Trinity Soccer Club

The aim of Trinity Soccer Club is to promote football skills and development within a fun, safe and Christian environment.

The objectives of Trinity Soccer Football Club include:

  • Ensuring all participants receive good quality coaching, training and competitive matches.
  • Ensure each participant feels valued and grows in confidence.
  • Developing productive partnerships with parents and others who are involved with young players.

The Club was formed in 1997 by Rev. Bobby Loney, who developed the Soccer Club as a response to the lack of activities for young people in the Knockmore Road area. It then grew from strength to strength for the 3 years that Colin Milligan was employed by Trinity as a Youth Worker and is currently under the auspices of Richard Dougherty who took over the running of Trinity Soccer Club in September 2004. Richard has coached at the club since 2002; as well as coaching at St. Aloysius Primary School and previously at Ballymacash Primary School, he has also had both Child Protection and First Aid training.

A central part of the social outreach of Trinity Methodist Church, the Soccer Club organised a Community Soccer Fun Week during July 2005, which was attended by over 30 children.

Trinity Soccer Club meets every Monday night from

  • 5 pm - 6 pm for Year 1 - Year 4 children
  • 6 pm - 7 pm for Year 5 - Year 8 children
at a cost of £ 2.00 per session. Club activities include:
  • Player of the Week Certificates
  • Christmas Party
  • Presentation Service
  • Community Soccer Fun Week
