7th Lisburn Boys' Brigade Company

7th Lisburn Boys’ Brigade Company held their 11th Annual Parents Night in March. The guest for the evening was Mrs Eileen Massey (a former Officer of the Company). Our evening took place in the form of team games, songs and drama with the awards at the end of the event.

With a dedicated team of Helpers and Officers our Company is now continuing to progress. Our Company Section programme continued on to the end of June with a programme of sports night, cooking on camping stoves, movies, walk in Mourne Mountains, quiz evening and finishing with 10 pin bowling where eleven Company Section boys took part.

Thelma Maze

The goal of our Boys Brigade section is to care for and challenge young people for life through a programme of informal education underpinned by the Christian faith. This will be achieved, for example, by:

  • delivering Christian teaching within Trinity and encouraging the development of a personal Christian faith;
  • providing opportunities for leadership, decision making and skills training;
  • empowering boys through involving them in decision making in the organisation and giving them responsibility appropriate to their age and aptitude;
  • being sensitive to the needs of boys and young people of varying backgrounds and abilities, whilst providing them with appropriate support, advice and guidance;
  • ensuring the safety of boys and young people through suitable procedures for the selection, training and supervision of leaders.
